The great advances in medicine and surgery offer the possibility of saving lives and considerably improving the quality thanks to organ transplantation. Today, there are many more patients waiting for a transplant than there are donors. This means that, in many societies, each deceased is automatically considered an organ donor if there is no explicit declaration not to donate. In this book, the author tries to answer the many questions that arise around the possibility of a system of buying and selling organs.
