The Eco Series Tier1 Whole House Carbon and KDF water purification system and salt-free water softening alternative system pairs the carbon and KDF media blend tank with a salt-free water softener alternative to create a Whole House solution that reduces not only a vast array of contaminants but also reduces the build-up of scale. Scale build-up leads to the early failure and lowered efficacy of pipes and water-using appliances. Utilizing a water softener in partnership with KDF and carbon media delivers a solution to combat this harmful growth while also reducing contaminants such as sediment, herbicides, pesticides, and chlorine taste and odor. This system includes a pre-filter housing for sediment filters, the KDF and carbon tank, and finally the salt-free water softener. There is no brine tank, expensive replacement salt, backwash waste, or control valve to worry about. Salt-free softener uses Template Assisted Crystallization (TAC) which does not remove calcium and magnesium from the water like traditional softeners but instead changes them from their ionic form to a harmless crystalline form. In this state, they are stable and won't attach to pipes and appliances.

A pre-treatment system for Iron, Manganese, Copper, and Sulfur must be installed prior to the salt-free conditioner unless a professional water analysis shows that the raw well water meets the following chemistry requirements: Iron less than 0.3 mg/L, Manganese less than 0.05 mg/L, copper less than 1.3 mg/L.
