About the Photoshoot

Kirkjufell mountain has long been one of my favorite Icelandic landmarks to photograph, with its perfect natural symmetry and romantic aura. The enchanting Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall adds a dynamic foreground, enhancing the composition’s depth and charm. Capturing this serene "romantic" shot required a late summer evening vigil, well past midnight, under Iceland's never-ending daylight. Alone in the quiet landscape, I was surrounded by a pink and orange sky, with clouds aflame in warm hues above the mountain peak. Using a slight long exposure, I softened the water’s flow into silky ripples, highlighting the steadfast majesty of the peak rising prominently through the glowing sky—truly a king of the mountains.
