Tasting Note

"The inspiration for this wine is to make a wine in a 'pre-Prohibition' style and it gives you aromas of pomegranate molasses, plum and pasilla pepper on the nose. The tannins are shockingly fine for cool-fermented mountain Cabernet, bolstered by bright currant and nectarine pit on the palate.Drink alongside BBQ with a slight chill all summer long, or put it down for 5-10 years. Either way, this is an elegant Cabernet of yesteryear.."

Established in 2012, Maitre de Chai (May-TRUH de Shay) is a project of Marty Winters and Alex Pittes. They make wines with a sense of place, from grapes sourced from unique and impeccably farmed vineyards in California. They defer to nature, with limited intervention.
