In the 1980s, Havens (Milton H. Erickson Institute of Springfield, Illinois; psychology, U. of Illinois) compiled materials gathered from 140-plus publications and lectures given by Milton H. Erickson, one of the 20th century's most significant hypnotherapists and psychotherapists. The original work was first published in 1985 by Irvington Publishers, Inc. in a single volume, and then reissued in a two-volume paperback set in 1989 and 1992. Havens recently discovered that the order of the presentation of the material was reversed in the two-volume set. Fortunately, Crown House Publishing Ltd. has now republished the text in its original order, again in a single- volume format, which also includes the addition of several references inadvertently omitted from earlier editions.
