This is the first new album since 1979's "Rock It" in almost 40 years. The album features 10 of Chuck's last new songs, including "Big Boys" with Tom Morello and "Lady B. Goode," a sequel to the legendary "Johnny B. Goode" featuring three generations of Berry family guitarists. Of the 10 new songs, 8 were written by Berry, and the remaining 2 are covers of old standard songs. The songs are produced by Berry himself. Some of the songs date back to the 1980s. Berry spent years developing them in his home studio in St. Louis in his spare time between tours. He worked on this album in earnest throughout the year until 2014, when health reasons forced him to take a break from touring and recording in 2015, but he continued to oversee its production and continue plans for the "Chuck" album. In order to fulfill his wish to release the album, he enlisted the help of his close friend Joe Edwards, owner of Blueberry Hill, the famous club where Berry performed over 200 shows, and his family, and finally the album was completed.
