About the Artist

Saskia Kappers continues the tradition of embroidery with Voortborduren - a mix of old techniques and modern craftsmanship. From her studio at the green and creative Hof van Cartesius in Utrecht, she crafts artworks that tell stories, soften interiors, and improve acoustics. She embroiders on materials such as recycled felt, Dutch sheep wool, and paper - all carefully chosen for their texture and sustainability. With a background in interior architecture, her work always connects art with space. 

For the Katoenclub, she designed four unique works reflecting her diverse interests - crafted to resonate with people and place.

Voortborduren: Dutch for “to elaborate”; “borduren” means embroidery.
