We love KALAMKARI textiles! These fabrics are all unique as they are hand painted: “pen work” as the name translates to. Originating from a remote area in Tamil Nadu named Machilipatnum, these exquisite fabrics, often exhibit elaborate birds, amidst floral motifs  

  The beautiful, soft silk/cotton blend is an inky deep midnight blue black at the bodice that blends into a lovely artful print of scrolling floral vines and exotic peacocks at the full length sleeve and skirt.  A natural empire waist is ultra flattering and comfortable.  The rich reds, vintage silver,  mustard chartreuse and antique whites & blacks make up the intricate pageantry print.  The flow and feel of this duster is exceptional.  The zip closure brings an unexpected edge and ease to this piece. Black georgette lining and two side vent pockets. Size Medium with a 42" chest.
