Lyrarakis, Assyrtiko Voila Vineyard, 2024From high up in the Voila plateau in eastern Crete, this is a strikingly clean and coastal expression of Greeces signature white grape. Assyrtiko is known for its bracing acidity and mineral edge and this one has both in spades. Expect citrus peel, sea salt, and a bit of green almond. Its tight, textural and zippy, with a mouthwatering finish that makes it very hard to put down. Pair with grilled fish, salty cheeses, or just a sunny afternoon.
