Now's a great time to discover Langhe Nebbiolo. Some of the world's great reds — Barolo and Barbaresco — are made from this grape here in Piedmont, but they fetch eye-watering prices and need years in the cellar. Langhe Nebbiolo offers a taste of that magic for a fraction of the cost, increasingly made in a fresher style that drinks beautifully now.

Expect bright red fruit with a peppery edge and notes of tar and liquorice — firm but juicy, with a long finish. From a family-run, third-generation winery, recently converted to organic. Best with roasts, stews and hearty meat dishes.
