I've left this little Staffordshire lamb with its full patina on it; a soak might whiten it up some, but part of why I love it so much is that it looks it has lived quite a life, which certainly it has, dating to the 1840s or so. Wonderfully textural treatment of the wool, and wonderful little hand-painted face, making this lamb look a a bit forlorn as it lounges on its little island, with a band of gold paint around the bottom perimeter. Very empathetic, and it seems that these early ones are fairly precious.

2 9/16" l x 1 7/8" t x 1 3/4" d. Shows what appears to be a combination of staining and some grime, with a hairline crack ar the rear of the base.
