The self-published book, Monsters of the Mallee - volume One examines the evidence of 29 murders, attempted killings and unsolved missing person cases that occurred in the Mallee region from the 1960s to the 90s, a time when the town was rumoured to have been home to a large community of underworld Mafia figures and cannabis plantations.

The book delves into the motivation behind the murders, some of which are described as being perpetrated by cold-blooded psychopaths.

A focus on murderer Alistair 'Sandy' MacRae, rumoured Australia's worst serial killer. MacRae was convicted for four murders, directly implicated by police in nine, and rumoured involved in over twenty suspicious deaths.
