I have a weakness for antique rattles, and bells of all sorts too, and certainly believe an antique child's rattle with lovely turned wooden handle is superior to a new plastic one! And just a festive feeling thing to wave around--including for summoning people to the dinner table. Sweet. 

5 3/4" long and producing a cheery jingle-jangle, like sleighbells. Wear to the striped, sewn strips of heavy duty oil cloth to which the bells are sewn, and some rusting to the bells themselves, as documented--but sound and well attached and works great!
