Effects of this medicine
This medicine inhibits sodium reabsorption in renal tubule to show diuretic effect, which improves edema and simultaneously reduces circulatory blood flow to decrease blood pressure.
It is usually used to treat hypertension, malignant hypertension, cardiac edema, renal edema, hepatic edema, premenstrual syndrome, edema caused by peripheral vascular disorder and to facilitate the excretion of urinary calculi.
Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)
・In general, for adults, take 4 to 8 tablets (40 to 80 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once a day on consecutive days, or every other day. The dosage may be adjusted according to disease, age and symptoms of the patient. In the case of renal dysfunction, etc., you may be advised to take much more dose. Strictly follow the instructions.
・If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. You should never take two doses at one time.
Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist
・If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines or foods.
If you have anuria or hepatic coma.
If you are a patient whose amount of sodium and potassium in the fluid has been decreased.
・If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
・If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
Precautions while taking this medicine
・This medicine may cause dizziness or light headedness due to decreased blood pressure. Pay attention to working at the high place, operating dangerous machinery, such as driving a car.
・When you need sufficient rest than usual, take the medicine in the morning so as to avoid urinating during the night.
Storage conditions and other information
・Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from light, heat and moisture.
・Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
