Sidroga chamomile flowers are used:

• internally for cramps and inflammatory diseases in the gastrointestinal area in adults, adolescents and children from 2 years of age
• externally for inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes as well as bacterial skin diseases including the oral cavity and gums in adults and adolescents aged 12 and over
• externally for inflammatory diseases and irritation of the airways (inhalations) in adults, adolescents and children from 6 years of age

Chamomile tea for inflammatory diseases

Its unmistakable aroma and its anti-inflammatory properties make chamomile (Matricaria recutita L.) a perennial favorite in the teacup. The sun-yellow, white-leaved chamomile flowers have a high content of essential oils and flavonoids. Chamomile blossoms in medicinal tea quality are usually infused as a tea and drunk for gastrointestinal complaints.

The dried flowers of the real chamomile can also be used for steam inhalation for various inflammatory complaints of the respiratory tract or as a gargling solution for inflammation of the mucous membranes in the oral cavity or on the gums. They are therefore a real all-rounder and should not be missing in any medicine chest. Chamomile blossoms are also available as a loose medicinal tea in practical, resealable bags from pharmacies.
