Agra Rug, 06'11 X 10'00. 

This hand-knotted wool antique India Agra rug features an eight-point cusped
medallion filled with a ruby red cruciform cross motif dotted with blooming
palmettes on a navy blue field. The blue cusped medallion floats on a beige
field with arabesque vines and flanked with a blue palmette finial on opposite
ends. The medallion is surrounded by palmettes, floral sprigs, stylized flowers
and blooming vines on a backdrop of army green and brown. Beige colored
spandrels filled with serrated leaves forming a cloudband design and two
cypress trees fill each corner. It is framed with a classic red border flanked
with meandering guard borders. 

• Rendered in variegated shades of burgundy, blue,
  verdigris, beige, brown, brick red, sky blue, olive, tan, ecru, burnt orange,
  gray and light pink.
