An unusual antique signet ring set with a geometrical sapphire. The ring was made in Paris and dates to the 1930’s. The synthetic sapphire is carved with a monogram in reverse so that when pressed into sealing wax for letters, the engraving is displayed in positive. The thick gold band tapers towards the back and is crafted in 18K white gold. The ring came as a pair, the other with a citrine in yellow gold - also available separately. The ring is in great overall condition.

The ring weighs 6.61g, the outer band is stamped with a control mark to indicate France and a minimum fineness of 18K gold. The ring measures 9mm north to south at the front, tapering down to 3mm across at the very back. The rectangular face of the sapphire measures 8mm x 7mm, and extends another 3mm into the triangular sides.
